About the event
21-Day (Urban) Bobinsana Dieta in the Mahua Family Tradition of Shipibo Healers
-- Led by Robin & Alicia York
We are very happy to invite you into a 21-day Amazonian Master Plant Dieta
A Master Plant Samá (Dieta)
A Samá or plant dieta serves as an initiation into the mystery school of the "Rao Nete," the realm of plant spirits. It is a communion with the natural forces of the world—a time marked by inner stillness and deep listening. During these moments, the subtle forces of nature become more apparent, and the deeper call of the plants is heard from within.
Samá is an ancient earth technology in which the plant spirit transmits its knowledge both to and through you. This occurs through transformative shifts in behavior and diet. It is a period dedicated to creating a conscious, sacred space—one nurtured by solitude, abstinence, ascetic practices, and a more restricted diet. These adjustments foster an attuned and receptive state, allowing the messages of the plants and spirit to emerge with clarity.
This sacred journey invites contemplation of life changes, exploration of new directions, and a space for collective grieving and growth. During a plant dieta, that which is hidden is revealed and personal shadows are illuminated. It is often said, “en la dieta está la curación” — “the healing is in the dieta” — emphasizing that healing extends beyond the plants to the self, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual layers.
Noticing the emotional currents that arise during the deeper stages of the dieta is essential—this is where profound healing begins. The plants help to remind us that love is intrinsic to human nature. Yet sometimes, a journey through the dark night of the soul is necessary before the light of awareness reemerges.
These challenging moments reveal what one is truly made of—times of vulnerability that also bring about a deeply felt aliveness. In the end, the plants root us back into communion with the sacredness of all life.

The Integrative Journey of this Dieta
Throughout this urban Dieta, we have integrated a body of work focused on the deep, healing, and transformative power of forgiveness—an essential element of both inner awakening and our collective journey toward wholeness.
True forgiveness begins with the quiet acceptance of oneself—a compassionate confrontation with the beautiful imperfection that is our nature. It is not enough to merely hold the thought of forgiveness. We are called to step boldly into the terrain of our inner victim, perpetrator, and rescuer, rewriting the stories that have long kept us bound to our past wounds. This transformative work is a roadmap for healing, inviting us to re-visit and gently release the karmic ties and deep-seated beliefs that have reinforced old patterns of suffering.
Through thoughtful journaling and reflective exercises that will be led by Alicia Marie, you will compose a personal letter of forgiveness. A cathartic, soul-to-soul dialogue that is not meant to be sent to anyone, but serves as a sacred conversation between who you are, who you aspire to become and perhaps someone whom you have yet to make peace with. With each word, you dismantle the lingering tendrils of unresolved hurt, allowing a resilient inner light to emerge—like the flower that blossoms in the shade, quietly reclaiming its space.
This practice of forgiveness is both deeply personal and inherently communal—a devotional act that becomes a collective prayer for healing. It calls upon us to embrace compassion and empathy for ourselves and others, transforming each moment into an opportunity for inner liberation. As the plant spirits gently remind us of life’s interconnectedness, forgiveness unfolds as a quiet act of liberation and a courageous return to the self. In doing so, we reclaim our personal power and pave the way for a more expansive, radiant future.
Embrace this invitation to journey into self-forgiveness and extend forgiveness to others—a practice that transforms individual lives and reshapes the very fabric of our shared human experience.

TESTIMONIALS
I have now attended four retreats with Robin and Alicia, and I could not feel more lucky to be able to work with them. The different gifts they each possess allow them to see individuals in their unique light. They hold space to help process those things we all have hidden within us in order for us to self-actualize.
Working with Robin and Alicia has been more beneficial to me than years of therapy; through recognizing old patterns that keep me stuck, connecting with, processing, and releasing deep emotions, and helping me see the pure light we all possess. While it is each individual who must walk the path to healing, their insights, support, and vast experience are invaluable along the way. I look forward to continuing this path with them.

Everything was leading up to this and now I have a duty to take it forward and make the best of it that I can. That this longing for more wasn’t for more of the pleasures of earth, it was for more love, more light, more knowledge.
Robin and Alicia are real family to me now. They exemplify what it means to be on this path, to really work on yourself, to be willing to go there, to face the hard things, the challenges and to come out stronger.Â
Through this work, I was able to really get to some core truths and follow that path the whole way down instead of getting stuck at my inner blocks like I have so many times before.

The retreat helped me to see my truth and live my truth by showing me hidden things that needed attention, - and where I still need to do some homework."
