Ceremonial Meditation RetreatÂ
Aug 22nd - 24th Paonia, CO
We sit in the traditional Shipibo way. This will be a special weekend of prayer, reflection and soul-centered healing
Our Prayer for this Ceremony & Retreat:Â Â
Â
Through this work, we are continually confronted with our own imperfections and humbled by the awareness of our own divinity.
This medicine is a powerful & sacred tool: it illuminates our inner being and gives us perspective into the many layers of our subconscious. This, in turn, can have positive, life-changing effects on our habitual patterns and beliefs. Beyond the reorientation of these outdated patterns is the gift of building connections that support the continuous unfolding and deepening of our inner knowing.
There is no limit to the growth that any one soul can experience in a lifetime. Yet it takes digging deep and a willingness to recognize our conditioned patterns to step into that liminal space of infinite growth.
We have found that the profound nature of this work is best served by an environment where everyone feels comfortable enough to be truly vulnerable with one another.
For this reason, we do a thorough screening process to ensure a secure container for all participants.
We strive for our maloca to remain an open, benevolent, compassionate, and supportive refuge where you can come as you are and bring your full self forward.
Our maloca is a sanctuary for honest reflection, deep self-inquiry, and communion with the natural forces of this sacred existence. It isn’t simply about showing up; it’s about opening into the vastness of the void from which the infinite is born. This is the place where wounds transform into wisdom through the alchemy of witnessing and presence.
Integration is more than sharing our journey; it is the foundation through which we ground our insights into daily life, becoming aware of where our soul substance is still pulled in opposite directions. The true essence of integration is to unite and become whole.
This wholeness is rooted in a sense of belonging and communion with the deep inner call of our true purpose, which is not something we get from the world, but what we give; it is the remembrance of our divine stewardship in which we work on behalf of something greater than ourselves.
We acknowledge the divinity in you and honor your choice to work with us. We are not here to fix you, nor to over-help. We are here to serve you by supporting the expansion of that divine essence within, especially into those parts of yourself still struggling to fully accept your own unconditional love.

Discover the Magic of This Sacred Location
Opaloka is a sacred community gathering space dedicated to the basic practices of getting back in touch with connection - connection to ourself, the land, spirit, and one another. We can tap back into this simple rhythm by breathing together, moving together, sitting in silence and stillness with ourself, or many other creative endeavors. Opaloka is a place for these experiences. We sing in celebration and grief. We move what feels stagnant inside of us. We breathe to feel our hearts more deeply. We do this in community to remember what we have forgotten.
About the event
Kibi Kaya is excited to return to Paonia, CO to share our ikaros, songs and prayers, songs with our Paonia community. This will be a special weekend of ceremony led by Robin and Alicia York and supported by our musicians, Ava Tara, Diana Carr as well as Meghann McCormick.
Robin will also be offering the option of opening a one week master plant dieta with either White Rose or the Amazonian plant, Bonsana.Â
Our mission at Kibi Kaya is to serve as a bridge for Spirit. For when we come together to sit and pray, we support each other in a journey of inner transformation that takes root at the very core of our being.
Robin (Mananxawe) and Alicia (Ani Kaya) offer ceremonies in the traditional Shipibo way - sitting in the dark - which allows for deep, personal reflection and healing.Â
Robin is a direct apprentice of Papa Gilberto Mahua, of the Mahua family, widely considered to be one of the most renowned healing lineages of the Ucayali region of Amazonian Peru. Through his extensive training and his many plant dietas, Robin serves as a channel for Spirit and the plants. He chants traditional Shipibo icaros that help to purify the body, release blockages and restore balance.Â
Robin is supported by his wife Alicia, a seer and intuitive guide. What often happens in ceremony is that people come up against their most primal fears and core wounding. With her compassion and deep understanding of spirit, Alicia is able to see these wounds and help our patients navigate through them.Â
For this weekend of prayer, Robin and Alicia are very honored to once again co-facilitate with their dear friends and allies, Ava Tara and Diana Carr, who have been an integral part of Kibi Kaya for many years. Tara and Diana's beautiful songs and chants bring so much healing, joy and celebration to our ceremonies. And we are deeply honored to be supported once again by our dear friend and host, Megahnn McKormick, who has been sitting with us for years and blessing our altar with her beautiful voice and her wise woman ways.Â
Join us for a transformative weekend of ceremony, inner reflection and celebration where the ancient wisdom of the "Nete Rao," the Shipibo concept of the "world of the healing plants," invites us into a deep communion with Spirit.Â
We are also very happy to share that we will be offering the chance to enter into a one week plant dieta with either Bobinsana or White Rose. This is a sacred initiation into the mystery school of plant spirits—a time marked by stillness, deep listening, and transformative shifts in behavior and awareness. Robin will open up the dieta in ceremony on Saturday night, and close it one week later when the Dieteros receive their Arkana closing chant that seals up their connection to their plant.
Bobinsana (Seméin) Dieta
Â
Dieting Bobinsana (Seméin in Shipibo) is a bit like coming home. This plant embodies the qualities of play, love, and acceptance that many of us innately experienced in our early years while playing in nature. It offers a heart-opening experience that invites a purification of the emotions.
At times, it also represents the need to break open old protective layers, cracking the shell of our defenses to let more love and joy in. This plant spirit confronts us with the ways we may not be fully present or showing up for life, in turn helping to heal the resonance of addiction that often serves as a method of dissociation.
Bobinsana ignites creativity and nurtures profound compassion for oneself and others, encouraging a recommitment to showing up fully and sharing one's gifts with the world. This journey is one of healing and liberation, releasing old wounds, traumas, and blockages, and inviting deeper realms of meditation and prayer through a connection with the spirit of Bobinsana.
Healing Benefits:
• Nervous System Reset: Provides relief from depression and anxiety, cultivating a state of calm, clarity, and groundedness.
• Creative Flow: Unlocks your creative energy and aligns you with your authentic nature and spiritual purpose.
• Emotional Purification: Encourages a deeper presence and a heart-opening process of healing, supported by a nurturing urban dieta container of fellow dieteros.
Red Rose Dieta
Dieting the Red Rose is a return to the heart of love itself. This plant embodies the qualities of unconditional love, beauty, and grace that awaken us to our divine nature. It offers a gentle yet profound opening of the heart, inviting a deep purification of emotional barriers and wounds. Roses are known to have the highest vibrational frequency of any plant, vibrating at around 320 MHz. When you diet the red rose, you are attuning your own vibration to your highest expression of unconditional love.Â
In this sacred journey, the rose helps crack open protective layers that have kept us guarded, allowing us to receive and embody love more fully. It confronts us with the ways we may have shut down or closed ourselves off from our authentic expression, helping us to dissolve shame, guilt, and pain that hinder our capacity to love ourselves and others more fully.
This plant spirit stirs the inner divine feminine, nurturing compassion and tenderness, and encouraging a heartfelt reconnection with the sacred within and around us.
Through this dieta, we move into a space of healing and liberation, releasing old wounds, emotional blockages, and patterns of disconnect. This creates a fertile space for inner prayer, meditation, and communion with the divine, allowing us to remember that true healing emerges from the sacred container of love, forgiveness, and self-acceptance.
Healing Benefits:
• Heart Opening and Emotional Healing: Facilitates the release of emotional pain, shame, and barriers, fostering love and acceptance.
• Deep Connection: Strengthens your relationship with the divine and your highest self, heightening intuition and spiritual insight.
• Inner Compassion & Forgiveness: Nurtures profound tenderness and self-love, supporting healing from grief, trauma, and disconnection.Â
This dieta with rose is a journey into your deepest self—an invitation to embody love’s divine grace and to emerge renewed, upright, and aligned with your highest joy.Â

 Testimonials
I have now attended four retreats with Robin and Alicia, and I could not feel more lucky to be able to work with them. The different gifts they each possess allow them to see individuals in their unique light. They hold space to help process those things we all have hidden within us in order for us to self-actualize.
Working with Robin and Alicia has been more beneficial to me than years of therapy; through recognizing old patterns that keep me stuck, connecting with, processing, and releasing deep emotions, and helping me see the pure light we all possess. While it is each individual who must walk the path to healing, their insights, support, and vast experience are invaluable along the way. I look forward to continuing this path with them.
 — Lynn C.
Everything was leading up to this and now I have a duty to take it forward and make the best of it that I can. That this longing for more wasn’t for more of the pleasures of earth, it was for more love, more light, more knowledge.
Robin and Alicia are real family to me now. They exemplify what it means to be on this path, to really work on yourself, to be willing to go there, to face the hard things, the challenges and to come out stronger.Â
Through this work, I was able to really get to some core truths and follow that path the whole way down instead of getting stuck at my inner blocks like I have so many times before.
 — Meggie S.
The retreat helped me to see my truth and live my truth by showing me hidden things that needed attention, - and where I still need to do some homework."
